In an effort to promote safety on the Victoria Falls bungee site in Zambia, Tourism Minister Given Lubinda made the jump himself last week.

After a bungee jumper survived a recent fall at the same site, Lubinda decided to take matters into his own hands, assuring other tourists that the site is in fact safe.

After jumping Lubinda declared the Victoria Falls bungee a ‘viable operation’ after making a leap of faith himself from the world famous bridge. Speaking after completing the jump yesterday, the politician added: ‘I myself will be engaging the operator on how we can make this exciting tourism event become totally incident-free.

Both Lubinda’s jump and the jumper’s fall, can be seen here.
