Men’s Health magazine recently revealed where vanity is the highest priority in the United States–the South. Southern cities that topped their list were Tampa, Plano, Atlanta and Dallas.

The magazine’s data came courtesy of a number of factors including Botox, teeth whitening and hair dye sales, and the number of cosmetic dentists, plastic surgeons and tanning salons per 100,000 people. One factor that wasn’t considered but adds to the research is climate–

Matt Marion, executive editor of the magazine had this to say regarding the high temperatures in the southern region: In Florida you have some of the highest average temperatures year round and people aren’t hiding under sweaters and bulky clothes. Their bodies are on display a lot more often than elsewhere in the country.

More on the magazine’s findings can be seen at Reuters.
