Samoa Air Offering New Inflight “Couch” for Overweight Passengers

Samoa Air is taking the next step in cashing in from overweight passengers. While other airlines have charged extra for seating, Samoa Air is now offering a new seat-””similar to a tw0-person couch””on board.

The couch will offer 14 inches of extra legroom, as well as a boarding ramp to get on board, in lieu of stairs. The airline already has a “pay-as-you-weigh” pricing plan and is known for transporting some of the world’s heaviest travelers.
