The seaside town of Ocean City, New Jersey is spitting out some very strange events during the Weird Contest Week every August.

MSNBC reports,

On Wednesday, August 17, the featured event is “That’s the Way the Cookie Crumbles,” in which contestants munch on cookies until they’re mush, disgorge them and then sculpt them into works of art. It follows similar dento-sculpting events, including saltwater-taffy and French fry-sculpting on August 15 and 16, respectively.

“We’ve had people chew out birds, boats, the state of New Jersey,” said Mark Soifer, the city’s public relations director. “We figured if you can do it with saltwater taffy, why not French fries and cookies?”

Unfortunately for parents of the children participating in the Little Miss and Mr. Chaos pagent””in which children three to five years of age are given pots and pans and encouraged to make as much ruckus as they can for 90 seconds””the sale of alcohol is forbidden in Ocean City.
