I’m still digging the Super Light Plasmic Jacket they were kind enough to send earlier this year. Now Mrs. Vagabondish is rocking a new tech shell of her own – the Mountain Hardwear Women’s Hyaction Jacket.

Mountain Hardwear Women's Hyaction Jacket

The Hyaction is among the company’s lightest, fastest climbing jackets. It’s designed to be super tough with abrasion-resistant fabric on the upper shoulders and arms.

Like the Super Plasmic, it also features Dry.Q EVAP and Dry.Q Elite technologies that combine to combat moisture. But unlike traditional waterproof-breathable fabrics, it doesn’t require humidity to trigger its breathability. So there’s zero claminess while you wait – it’s waterproof and windproof straight away.

While it’s designed first and foremost as a climbing jacket, its incredible light weight (only a hair more than 8oz!) mean that it’s ultra-packable for travel – ready to be deployed for any harsh, wet weather situation. It’s small enough to pack “just in case” and you won’t even notice it if you don’t need it.
