Last week, security at Chicago O’Hare Airport found an 18-inch alligator under an escalator. Only a broom and dustpan was needed to pick up the animal, but where it came from is still a mystery.

Prior to the alligator’s discovery, photos surfaced on Twitter the same day of a man holding an alligator on the Blue Line train headed to O’Hare. The alligator found at the airport had distinctive markings similar to that of the one from Twitter. Investigators are still trying to locate the person responsible for dumping the alligator at the airport, and in the meantime the gator is with the Chicago Herpetological Society.
