The next time you book a group flight with friends and family, you might want to think twice. Some airlines are adding extra fees for adjacent seats, which could make travel for families with young children quite difficult.

Travelers can expect $25 or more per seat if they choose to book seating together. Although there’s no guarantee, travelers might be able to avoid the fees by booking flights early or finding a little sympathy from gate agents at the airport.
