Keepers at Paignton Zoo in the United Kingdom must have been exposed to too many of those annoying ONE WEIRD TIP FOR A FLAT BELLY ads on the internet. You know, the ones that invariably show a drawing of a banana. How else would you explain the decision to take away all the monkeys’ bananas?

The zoo’s monkey population had become overweight and so a new diet regime was adopted — one that intentionally excludes bananas. Like their human counterparts, the primates are no longer allowed to eat their favourite food and they’ve had to learn to find satisfaction in leafy greens.
