This is the time of year for county fairs and harvest festivals, but there’s a festival in Serbia that stands out from the crowd. The World Testicle Cooking Championships, or BallsCup, is back for another year. The cook-off takes place on August 30-31 in Gornji Milanovac, Serbia and attracts international competitors keen to prove they have the stones to cook the best testicle dishes.

BallsCup may sound like the name of a jockstrap manufacturer, but in fact the festival has been going strong for 10 years now. One of the star competitors at this year’s BallsCup is the Mayor of Reykjavik who is bringing a team to represent Iceland in the competition.

The organizers claim that eating the specialities on offer at the festival will have an aphrodisiac effect on men. They are also quick to reassure any ladies who wish to partake that they are not at risk of becoming hairier as a result.
