When filming wrapped on the long-awaited “Hunger Games” in North Carolina, it became the largest on-location movie shoot of all time for the state.
With all the anticipation leading up to the March 23 release of the film, North Carolina tourism officials have high hopes for a boost in the state’s tourism. Filming took place mostly in the western part of North Carolina, with particular scenes staged in Charlotte, Henry River, Shelby, and the DuPont State Recreational Forest.
The film is expected to rival “Twilight” audience attendance and may very well transform North Carolina into a go-to destination. More details can be seen at Huffington Post.
