For the twelfth year the No Pants Subway Ride encouraged the public to don their underwear in public, just for the hell of it. The event is the brainchild of a group called Improv Everywhere, and the 2013 No Pants Subway Ride drew thousands of pantless people to participate in cities all over the world. Underwear clad transit-goers were seen in Sweden, Toronto, Mexico City, Berlin, and dozens of other cities, as well as the place where it originated – New York City.

The event appears to serve no discernible purpose other than randomness and entertainment value.
