Giant Rubber Duckie Greeted by Thousands in Taiwan

Kaohsiung, Taiwan has a bright new addition in the community: a 59 foot tall rubber duckie! This work of art was created by Dutch artist Florentijn Hofman to send a simple message of happiness. “It keeps on smiling to you, you know. It says, ‘don’t you worry, laugh, be happy!” said Mr. Hofman. News.com.au explains that even an approaching typhoon couldn’t cloud the arrival of the giant rubber duck, and it was presented with no weather delay to thousands of people. City officials hope to attract over three million visitors. Before October 20th when it sets sail to visit other Taiwanese cities.
