China’s Death Hotel Opens its Doors

Talk about a location. A Chinese woman has opened a death themed hotel bang in the middle of a graveyard. Jiao Meige, the enterprising hotelier says she wanted to rent her land out for farming purposes, but had to abandon plans because nobody wanted to work there. It couldn’t have had anything to do with the dozens of underground corpses, could it?

The hotel Mausoleum Inn is located in Lishui town in Jiangsu Province and resembles a Chinese style funeral home. Meige says she wanted to let her guests “experience death” by sleeping in coffin shaped beds (as opposed to actually kicking the bucket, I suppose).

Those who want to experience life on the other side might not have an extensive selection of holiday activities to look forward to — the surrounding vicinity is covered with graves.

Not everybody is allowed entry into this delightful house of death. People with a history of cardiac ailments are a strict no-no while “mental patients must be accompanied by healthy people.”
