Before making their way to Los Angeles, British teens Leigh Van Bryan and Emily Bunting littered their Twitter accounts with comments such as “free this week for a quick gossip/prep before I go and destroy America?”.
Much of the teens’ other Twitter posts were taken out of context, but still resulted in them being held up by armed airport guards in the U.S., and placed in jail cells overnight. The teens were sent on a flight back to the U.K the next day and told to apply for visas with the U.S. Embassy if they had plans to return in the near future.
Unfortunately, not all British slang translates the same in the U.S. More details can be found on Huffington Post.
