We all like to come back from vacation with something to remind us of the wonderful time we’ve had, a nice tan, beautiful photos, maybe even a novelty tee shirt or snow globe. But anyone who has been inside a souvenir shop knows that no matter where you are in the world, there are some pretty terrible vacation souvenirs out there.
Now, one website is celebrating the worst in holiday memorabilia. Crapsouvenirs.com gathers the best of the worst, inviting users to upload pictures of their tackiest holiday buys.
Photo Editor Doug Lansky, also the man behind Signspotting.com, writes on the website:
“When it comes to kitsch commemorative crap, most of us take the sensible route and walk right by it”¦ If you dare to take a closer look, and do so armed with a sense of humor, you’ll occasionally stumble across a gem ”” a souvenir so painfully tacky you find it hard to hold back a smile. This site is meant to serve as a collection point, or perhaps a refuge, for these tackiest of mementos.”
