Some people can enjoy a road trip without ABBA. I am not one of those people.

In our gear-up for road-tripping season (is spring really finally for really real here?!), we’re gathering the best camping/hiking gadgets and gear we can find. That includes go-anywhere speakers that can guarantee we’ll never be without our precious Dancing Queen.
Scosche recently provided us with their BoomBottle H20+ — a rugged, waterproof, wireless speaker designed to keep the party going wherever we might find ourselves.
The Skinny
In short, the BoomBottle H20+:
… offers bigger, bolder sound packed into a sleek, compact, lightweight design. It’s Optimized for Outdoors™ with rugged waterproof/buoyant construction. Take it everywhere.
The Traveler’s Take
The ruggedized exterior is arguably the BoomBottle’s best selling point. It’s IP67 rated which means it’s dustproof and waterproof with a buoyant construction that ensures you (probably) won’t lose it if it decides to go for a swim during your next kayaking trip. It’s solid and extremely well-built, so you can take it just about anywhere — campground, hiking, or on your next skydiving trip (though we’re not actually recommending the latter).
Beyond the pretty face, there’s plenty to like about the BoomBottle. The audio comes courtesy of a high-quality 12W 50mm speaker and a passive subwoofer for deep, clear sound. Dual pairing capability also allows for true left/right stereo audio. The side control panel offers play/pause and skip functionality plus a LED battery level indicator. For travelers, the long-lasting rechargeable lithium-ion battery packs 11 hours of continuous play (not too shabby, especially considering the BoomBottle’s compact size).
The form factor is purpose-built for an active lifestyle. Quarter-inch threading on the bottom allows the speaker to be secured to a tripod or other mounting system. The shape is also perfectly designed to fit into the water bottle cage of most bikes so you can hit the trails with it. Which also means it fits into most standard cupholders (in a cooler or camp chair, for example).
