  1. That red building there is the Salvador Allende library. The owner is a great guy, an old believer of the socialist principles. I lived there for a bit this year, and blogged a lot about Valparaiso. A fellow traveler once went there and rented a book… she didn’t have nothing to pay with, so the owner proposed to take her belt in exchange! The deal was done, but my friend had troubles getting the belt back as… the guy is so free that he opens the shop when he feels like. Every now and then there are concerts in the tiny library. Valparaiso is a great place.
