When Delta Flight 486 from Atlanta to New York hit its cruising altitude, passengers were in for a big surprise. Two penguins onboard the flight were let out of their travel crate and allowed to roam the aisles of the plane.
The penguins, named Pete and Penny, ages 6 and 12, were en route to the New York premiere of “Frozen Planet,” a new Discovery Channel documentary.
Even though the foot-and-a-half tall penguins obviously didn’t need extra leg room, it appears they still chose to splurge on an seat upgrade. Passengers reported that they were initially viewed “waddling from first class.”
