Sitting next to a screaming child on a packed flight is any air traveller’s worst nightmare, but in Vietnam one passenger decided to take action and pulled open the emergency exit in an attempt to offload the offending child from the plane faster.
Luckily, the Vietnam Airlines plane had already landed in Ho Chi Minh City airport when Le Van Thuan, 29, pulled open the window exit of the plane, releasing the emergency slide.
Thuan faces a fine of at least 15 million Vietnamese dong ($720) for opening the door. And unfortunately his out-of-the box thinking didn’t help him or the child disembark the airplane any quicker–all passengers exited the airplane via the front door.
