With a scheduled opening due in time for the Olympics, London’s new cable car system will provide a quick and efficient way to transport visitors over the River Thames.

Transport for London (TfL) estimates that in order to transport visitors from the Greenwich Peninsula to the Royal Docks, it would take an hour by bus, compared to five minutes by cable car.

London Mayor Boris Johnson says ‘passengers would be able to drink in the truly spectacular views of the Olympic Park and iconic London landmarks whilst shaving valuable minutes from their traveling time. It would also provide a much needed enhancement of cross river options to the east of the city’.
