Just two days after superstar Whitney Houston’s body was found in a bathtub at the Beverly Hilton hotel, the Hollywood tour company Dearly Departed has added the site to their “Tragical History Tour.”
“When the 911 call becomes available, we’ll use that,” said Scott Michaels, owner and founder of 7-year-old Dearly Departed. When people hear audio from the incidents, it jars them into recognition “that these are genuine individuals.”
Capitalizing on such a recent death “is not a nice situation,” Michaels acknowledged. “To some people, there’s just no defending it.”¦ But we’re not jumping on any bandwagon. This is what we do.”
The “Tragical History Tour” tour consists of a 2½-hour narrated bus ride to the death sites of various Hollywood celebrities. The tour costs $40 per adult, and departs from the Hollywood & Highland center in Hollywood.
