Boring and Dull have joined forces in the hope of packing a bigger punch. The American town of Boring, Oregon has entered an alliance with the Scottish village of Dull with a view to increasing tourism to their towns, whose names would seem to give them somewhat of a handicap in terms of convincing travellers of their vibrancy.
The towns have been twinned since 2008, but plans are in the works for an official Boring and Dull Day, news which has riveted observers from around the globe. Boring and Dull Day would be celebrated jointly, with festivities occurring on both continents simultaneously.
There is no word yet on whether the organizers of the Boring Conference could ever be swayed to hold their event outside of London, but it seems only fitting.
