Drunk people behaving badly? Imagine that. What’s unimaginable is a group of 40 intoxicated individuals deciding to defecate in a holy well, terrorize tourists, and tear stones from what was the best preserved, prehistoric structure of its kind in Ireland.

The stone ring fort in County Donegal known as Grianan Fort sits on top of a hill and dates back to 1700 B.C. It is thought to have been the seat of the Kingdom of Aileach.

Only two men faced criminal proceedings in connection with the strange case. The rest of their party had taken off, but Raymond McCormick and William Sweeney were still creating havoc when police arrived and found the pair removing stones from the ancient structure and flinging them into the parking lot.
