Don Julian Santana found a doll floating in the canal on the island in 1951 near the body of a deceased young girl. He strung the doll up in a tree in her (assumed) honor. He continued to string up dolls in the tree until 2001 when he drowned in the very same canal. For real … you can’t make this stuff up.
All you want is to be scared out of your wits, right? To feel nauseous and anxious while on a lovely forest stroll with your sweetie? Well then the Hoia-Baciu Woods, Romania, should be your number one choice. The forest has an unexplained clearing near the center where the trees surrounding it can’t grow tall (supposedly) and those who dare to walk through this portal probably wont return (allegedly).
No? No limb-less dolls or wonky portals? Well, read more about the World’s Most Haunted Forests here, and choose your ghost from a host (pun) of options.
