We like the fact that the ExtremeSteam weighs less than a pound. Travelers will also appreciate the long, 9-foot power cord – convenient in hotel rooms where power outlets are not always well-placed.
A nice bonus is the unit’s ability to kill mites and bedbugs trying to hitch a ride on your clothes. It’s particularly reassuring after a couple of nights spent in dodgy accommodations.
In practice, we found it worked exactly as described. Simply fill the reservoir, turn the unit it on and in just a few minutes, it’s completely heated up and you have fresh, wrinkle free clothes.
Perhaps our only gripe – if we had to find something to nitpick about – is the size which, frankly, is neither huge nor especially compact for traveling. As we said, for uber-minimalist travelers this will likely be an issue. But for folks who value looking freshly pressed even on their travels, we think the ExtremeSteam is well worth the less than $40 MSRP price tag.
