It took a team effort to rescue a woman who fell onto the tracks at a Japanese subway station near Tokyo. The woman ended up trapped between the platform and the carriage of a train. After an appeal was made over the public address system, 40 bystanders came forward to help transit officials to push the train and free the woman.
The trains are designed to allow them to tilt from side to side, so volunteers were able to apply sufficient force to the side of the carried that it tilted away from the trapped woman and created enough space to lift the woman to safety.
