The iOS 7 stories never seem to end, but it’s time to take a look at how travelers specifically benefit from its advancements. The GPS location feature can now suggest locally popular applications based on your location. This of course includes social media apps, but, more importantly for us, it also includes transportation and language related apps. You’ll be able to take advantage of the same public transportation apps as the people who live in the area and improve communication in areas with languages especially difficult to read or speak.

The Passbook app functions with a greater number of popular travel websites to keep booking confirmations organized in one place. And though having your iPhone stolen is a rite of passage for almost all frequent travelers, security upgrades will make it more difficult to erase your data and sell the phone.

However, camera and photo stream improvements are the most talked about in travel. Your camera offers a variety of filters, and improved photo sharing options means that you can add photos directly to your friends’ and family’s streams. Apple further explains that “smart groupings of your photos and videos based on time and place” will help users sort photos based on Collections, Moments and Years. The “Years” feature is apparently one giant collage of all pictures taken in a single year. Apple says it makes it easier to find a specific photo, we say take a look at the sheer quantity we rack up!
