We all know how stressful and tedious air travel can be. Along with that, new research has surfaced claiming that plane flight can actually cause headaches.
The latest information was published online in the journal Cephalalgia. Italian neurologists gathered case study participants that complained about “peculiar” headaches that last about 30 minutes, flare up during the plane’s landing and seem to mostly affect men. The headaches typically go away within minutes of the plane touching the ground.
Lead author Dr. Federico Mainardi advises those who suffer from these headaches to take a non steroidal anti-inflammatory drug, such as ibuprofen, along with a nasal decongestant spray about 30 to 60 minutes before landing.
Dr. Mainardi is currently collecting more case studies for his research. More information on how you can help can be found at MSNBC.com
