With rail production halted since July, China’s rail industry reemerged last weekend with the launch of a new high speed train.
The train has a maximum speed of 500 kmh. A subsidiary of CSR, China’s largest train maker, designed the train which resembles an ancient Chinese sword.
After a fatal train collision in July, the industry in China has been wary of new innovations, but CSR chairman Zhao Xiaogang said the company, “aims to ensure the safety of trains operation [sic].”  Xiaogang also said that future trains won’t necessarily run at high speeds.
