In what can only be explained as an act of hypoglycemic lunacy a TSA security agent at McCarran International Airport in Las Vegas confiscated a cupcake from a passenger at security.
According to Rebecca Hains, the TSA agent told her that her cupcake’s frosting was enough like a gel to violate TSA restrictions on allowing liquids and gels onto flights to prevent them from being used as explosives.
Agency spokesman Nico Melendez stated that the TSA was reviewing the incident, adding that passengers are allowed to take baked goods through checkpoints.
On the bright side, the store where the cupcake was purchased has offered to send Hains a replacement cupcake.
