Looks quite “handy”, doesn’t it? Now you can really get “hands-on” with your iPad. Yeah, I went there.
The new HandStand holder is a simple, yet clever accessory for both generations of the iPad. I could explain how it works, but why not just show you?
The construction is a very durable, yet surprisingly flexible polyurethane – the same material used in skateboard wheels. This means it’s pliable enough to wrap around the iPad’s frame, but sturdy enough to take a beating.
We like it for a few reasons. First, you can position it with the iPad facing up to provide a better viewing angle for typing, watching video, etc. You can also face it down on a flat surface to protect the iPad screen. We also really dig the ability to effortlessly reposition the iPad in landscape or portrait mode without (re)moving the strap.
It’s the perfect travel accessory for those instances when you don’t have a desk, tray table, or suitable surface to position the iPad, and you also don’t want to try balancing it on your knees. We found the strap and overall ergonomics of the HandStand to be quite comfortable, even after an hour or so of use.
Pricing & Availability
iAccessories are often grossly overpriced, but the Handstand – given that it’s both a case and a carrier – is fairly reasonable.
Available now for the first generation iPad and iPad 2 in black, white and (my personal favorite) pink direct from TheHandStand.com for just $49.95.
