Let’s be honest: most messenger bags are pretty much the same. They’re either: big enough for your laptop or they’re not; they provide enough pockets for you and your travels, or they don’t; they’re well constructed or they’re not.
be.ez’s LA besace 15 Lime Drop is a damn good blend of everything good you expect from a messenger bag.
The Skinny
Like any messenger bag, the LA besace’s feature list is short and to the point:
- Fits most 15″ PC/Mac laptops
- High-density padding to protect your computer
- Rainproof nylon exterior
- Metal hardware and waterproof zipper
- High-grade nylon shoulder webbing
- Multiple pockets to organize your gear
In Detail
Design
We rather liked the sleek, European design of the LA besace. The well-padded exterior features subtle organic curves represented in the shell and ergonomic zippers as well.
The outside also provides two quick-access, zippered pockets – one slightly concealed on the back side and perfect for your passport, train tickets, etc.
Inside, the bag offers a variety of well placed nooks and pockets. We found it spacious enough for a standard 15″ PC laptop, an 8″ netbook, a whole mess of papers and file folders, and miscellaneous other gadgets and goodies.
Construction
We expect only two things of messenger bag construction: a solid, waterproof shell and bulletproof zippers that never, ever snag. The LA Besace provides both. Period.
Availability/Pricing

Bottom Line
At $89.99 (Amazon.com), the LA besace 15 isn’t cheap. However we still think it hits a solid price point for quality-conscious vagabonds who expect more from their gear. It’s sleek, understated, European styling, rugged construction, and just-the-right-amount of well-placed interior and exterior pockets make this a winner. Recommended.
