A-Audio Legacy Over-ear Headphones

A-Audio Premium Legacy Headphones Offer 3-Stage Listening

As a minimalist traveler, I’ve long been a fan of earbuds as they’re almost invisible from a packing perspective. But I’ve started to appreciate a few more creature comforts when I hit the road now.

Among those: great-sounding audio. I forego the movies on long-haul flights in favor of great music or even a podcast. Which is where A-Audio comes in. Their latest Legacy Over-ear Headphones are billed as a serious contender to any other pair of prosumer headphones out there.

One thing I really dig about these is what A-Audio has dubbed 3-Stage Listening Technology. This means you can switch between Base Enhancer, Active Noise Cancellation, and Audio modes depending on where you happen to be at the moment. The over-ear design makes all of this possible, effectively drowning out everything around you.

There are a few things that I really dig about these as well:

  • Chrome-plating, aluminum construction with steel hinges
  • Closed circumaural ear cups with memory foam padding for comfort and isolated sound
  • 24K gold plated contacts for optimum signal transfer
  • Detachable phone cord with remote and mic for connecting to your mobile device, plus one audio-only cable and gold plated 6.3mm audio adaptor
  • Two-year warranty

Travelers will also appreciate the dual jacks for sharing music with friends (even those you just met). The Legacy even include a sweet, deluxe travel case and a polishing cloth (because your cans can never be too shiny). The cups are also fully articulating and collapsible which means they fold up nice for the smallest possible form factor in your luggage.

With a leather band, diamond quilted stitching, and octagonal aluminum bezels, they’re also made to look sexy. The design is reminiscent of a high-end watch.

At just shy of $300 (USD), they ain’t cheap. But you won’t want for a new pair of seriously awesome-sounding travel headphones for a long, long time.
