But if you’re like us, you’re none too happy paying upwards of $50/month for high speed internet access. You’re in luck because for $20 you can buy a wireless internet card that you can hook up or install to your computer in about 5-10 minutes. No hardcore, geeky computer expertise required. Find a neighbor with a wireless access point (WAP) – they’re extremely common nowadays, especially in urban or suburban areas. So long as your wireless network card can see your neighbor’s WAP, you’re good to go! I’m sure your friendly neighbor will gladly split the cost of his high speed internet connection with you.
Bonus: find a variety of neighbors that are all willing to chip in and split the bill 3, 4, 5 … or 12 ways. With half a dozen folks on the same line, you’re now paying closer to $10/month – a savings of around $300-500 per year!
