Did you know that today, August 25th, is officially “National Duck Out for a Drink Day”? Of course you didn’t because it’s the first annual, just declared by Alex Balk over at The Awl:
In accordance with all local and federal statutes governing the declaration of holidays by self-important Internet “personalities,” I, Alex Balk, hereby designate today, August 25th, as National Duck Out For A Drink Day. To recognize this special occasion, you need only slip away from work for a quick shot at a nearby bar. (If you have time to down a beer as well then by all means do so, but it is not a requirement.)
I propose expanding said holiday to all our international friends around the world. Either way, drink up, cubicle dwellers and other wage slaves! I tip my glass tonight for you, for us … and for Mr. Balk for declaring a ridiculous internet holiday that I can proudly stand behind.
Or not. Depending on how late it is.
