Solicitation in France May Become Legal (Again)

While “entertainment” has always been legal in the City of Lights, there has been a ban in place for 10 years making the advertising of such “entertainment” a criminal offense. In 2003, then-Interior Minister Nicolas Sarkozy introduced legislation which, among other things, prevented “entertainment” workers from wearing revealing clothing.

While it’s hard to imagine how a business might survive without being able to advertise or technically have “store fronts,” but somehow, against all odds, the “entertainment” industry has held on. Now, if the French Senate overturns the law, those employees will once again be free to advertise their “entertainment” skills.
