Sometimes accidents happen when you really have to go to the washroom. On a recent Air India flight from New Delhi to Bangalore the pilot took a quick break to go empty the tank so to speak, and returned to find themself locked out of the cockpit.
A mechanical malfunction jammed the lock on the cockpit door and it could not be opened from either the cabin side or the cockpit. The co-pilot was forced to fill in for the remainder of the flight and look after the landing while the captain was stranded in the cabin. How embarrassing.
Once the plane arrived the plane was soon repaired and returned to service.
