A South African traveler was found floating on his back 27 hours after he fell overboard. Rescuers located Brett Archibald, of Cape Town, 20 kilometers away from the spot where he originally fell off a tour boat. Archibald was reported missing, and the rescue effort initiated, the following morning when he failed to show up for breakfast. The 50 year old man was taking the overnight journey between Padang and Mentawais and had been seasick during the trip. Private surf charter boat Barenjoey found Archibald sunburnt and dehydrated but alive more than a day after going overboard.
