Police in Vietnam may have done this man a favor when they pulled him over, as it appears that he could stand to be protected from himself. Officers in Hanoi discovered sacks containing 53 venomous King Cobras in the car, each one of the large snakes having enough venom to be deadly. Apparently this was a risk he was willing to take for a payoff of less than $50.
Some consider cobra meat to be a delicacy in Vietnam and the man, who has not been named, was transporting them for the black market when he was arrested. The snakes, which can grow up to 18ft long, were taken to a local wildlife refuge where they were treated and released into the wild.
