China has a reputation for wanting to set records and go big in everything it does. When you want to build a 430,000-square-foot art museum, though, the big question becomes “Where do you put it?” The answer, of course, is to build an island for it.
The enormous Pingtan Art Museum will be the largest of its kind in Asia once it is built in Fujian Province. The island of Pingtan will have a new artificial island connected to it, upon which the museum will stand.
