Celebrity chef and fermented-shark-eater Anthony Bourdain returns to the Travel Channel with a new TV series, “The Layover” Mondays at 9 p.m. ET. The 55-year-old once again tours the world in search of the perfect meal. In the first episode, he visits Singapore for 30 hours, devouring wonton noodles, Hainanese chicken rice, and other intriguing foods.
What’s different with the new series is that it emphasizes plenty of budget-conscious travel tips to allow people to actually follow in his footsteps. Expect detailed advice, such as which bus is best to hop from the airport to your hotel.
