His feat of visiting all 201 countries on earth without flying is a global first. Hughes started the trip in 2009 with a visit to Uruguay, and his arrival in South Sudan on Monday marked the completion of his list. However, to keep in the spirit of his quest he is travelling home to Liverpool by travelling overland and by sea. He hopes to arrive by Christmas.
