I’m not entirely sure how this is useful to travelers, other than to determine the rather eclectic musical tastes of locals in the countries you’re planning to visit. Let’s take a quick tour, picking five countries at random:
Malaysians really dig the eclectic mix of Linkin Park, Avril Lavigne, and Mariah Carey – in that order.
Saudi Arabians like The Beatles, Mariah Carey, and The Rolling Stones.
(What’s with the interest in Mariah Carey? Note to self: perhaps I can use this to determine which countries adore her and cross those off of my RTW to-do list.)
Belgians on the other hand like things a little more my speed: U2, The Beatles, Red Hot Chili Peppers, and Pink Floyd.
Now we’re getting somewhere.
Estonians really rock out with Linkin Park, Metallica, Queen, Terminator, System of a Down, and Rammstein.
Final note: if musical taste represents any semblance of what to expect in a given country, might want to bring a helmet to Estonia.
