After leaving Canada in January, the Russian Lyubov Orlova was destined for a scrap yard in the Dominican Republic. Only a day out to sea, a tow cable snapped setting the ship adrift until it was recently spotted some 2400km off the west coast of Ireland.
Evidently the “ship remained largely forgotten until a report from the U.S.-based National Geospatial-Intelligence Agency pinpointed the ship on a course to Europe”. How does one simply forget about an entire missing ship?
